Here are
some examples of my necklaces. I usually create fairly simple jewelry using my etched glass beads with sterling silver findings. I especially love Chris Hentz’s cables, and use them whenever I can. Sometimes I create more elaborate pieces using bead crochet and with hand-made silver beads and findings. Here are a few examples of each. |

Burgundy Plum Blossom Necklace These burgundy freshwater pearls were beautiful and unique. They called out for a coordinating glass color, but that was not easy to achieve. I had to create a custom color by layering different colors of glass before pulling the thin stringers of glass to create these plum blossoms as an exact match for the pearls. The end result was very satisfying. Necklace approximately 20" in length, pendant 2". The etched glass end-caps are about 1.5" in length, and 18 mm in diameter at their widest. Pale Peach Blossom Necklace These pearls are a subtle peachy-champagne color, so I used thin threads of peach glass to create the blossoms on clear glass to keep this color subtle too. The color is a little hard to see on a Web page, but I like it so well I had to show it here anyway. Necklace approximately 20" in length, pendant 2". Click image to enlarge. |

Vetro Blue Plum Blossom Necklace This necklace features a crocheted rope of faceted Czech glass beads that are a beautiful navy-denim color. Focal Bead Slide Necklaces
These
necklaces feature a single glass focal bead and sterling accent beads
that slide along a silver Chris' Cable necklace. These cables are truly
fine, with a soft, supple feel, and a springy resilience that allows
them to hold my beads in a smooth and elegant curve across the
throat.

Blossom Cushion Slide Necklace

Seasons Bead Slide Necklace This necklace has features glass beads around the full length of the necklace showing the cycle of the seasons. Honeybee Pendant
Another example of a bead pendant, this one a long slender bicone bead. This etched designs shows a honeybee and her honeycomb on a dark amber bead with a clear glass overlay that increases the glow of the bead. This etched honeybee (or one of her sisters) was the original inspiration for my honeycomb beads. I still intend to make a necklace combining glass honeycombs and my etched honeybees someday. Passion
Pearls Necklace This necklace features an etched glass passion flower focal bead on a crocheted rope of peacock freshwater pearls. These pearls have a great iridescence with multiple colors. These pearls are end-drilled teardrops, giving this rope an especially smooth and supple feel. The pendant is set with a chunky sterling loop bale that matches the heft of the focal bead. Green Leaf Necklace
This sculptural etched glass leaf & vine bead has multiple leayers of green color, giving it a deep rich glow. The green freshwater pearls I used here nearly glow too, with a bright spring color. Flying Egret Necklace
This bead pendant shows one of my earliest etched designs. The focal bead has an etched snowy egret in flight on one face of the tablet bead, and the egret at rest on the reverse. These freshwater pearls are a deep peacock color, with iridescent shades of blue and violet. Sterling pendant finding. Necklace approximately 20" in length. Pendant approximately 2" long.
