The Baton Rouge Bead Company offers an array of fine beads and findings in a friendly and fun atmosphere. I'm very excited to visit the sweet ladies who run the place for my first-ever trunk show at their shop! I'll have all my glass bead goodies, some fun jewelry to check out, or even try one, and some of my easy interchangeable earring findings too. Want to see my beads? OCTOBER

Northwest Bead Society Annual Bead Bazaar

October 2^nd and 3^rd, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

It's back on! Yep, the dedicated volunteers of the Northwest Bead Society have pulled another one ouf of the hat, and there will be a Bead Bazaar 2010! Click here for maps and directions to the Embassy Suites Seattle North. The new venue has easy access to the freeway, loads or free parking, and even a restaurant and coffee shop on site. And an ATM too, you know how that can come in handy at a bead show! The show will be open 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM both Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you Northwesterners there!

NOVEMBER

Houston Bead Society Annual Bead and Jewelry Show

November 12^th through 14^th, Friday 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The HESS Club (Houston Engineering and Scientific Society), 5430 Westheimer Road, Houston TX 77056

The show is a great annual event presented by a dedicated band of Houston Bead Society volunteers. They put together an astounding variety of vendors, with offerings in everything from glass, stone, and metal beads and jewelry, to fiber arts and even basketry! There is an astounding variety of jewelry ready-made for Christmas gift giving, as well as all the materials and freely shared knowledge you would need to create some fabulous works of your own. I attended this show for the first time in 2009, and I’m headed back for 2010. I'll be in the same spot, come on over and visit! Click here for a map to the HESS club. It's easy to get to from anywhere around the Houston area, and offers handy free parking and a unique high-class setting for the show.

FEBRUARY 2010

February 27th, just two weeks away!

The details are not entirely mapped out yet, but I will be displaying my work at my first local trunk show just two weeks from now! I'll be there along with Lafayette metal artist Paula McDowell, and possibly others. I think it will be a great time! Beaucoup Beads is a very friendly and casual shop. Owner Marie and manager Shannon are really helpful and fun! I'll post the exact hours as soon as I get the details, and I'll be sending out postcard to all the local art lovers. Please help spread the word, local Lafayette pals, and come by to visit during the show!

MARCH 2010

March 5^th through 7^th
Spring Honolulu Glass Art & Bead Festival, Oahu, Hawaii

This will be the fourth year I have exhibited at this show, and I’m hooked. This show brings out a fabulous variety of vendors with all kinds of beads and findings, including quality art glass beads from all over.

The Ward Warehouse location is great, with lots of natural light to see your bead finds, free parking on site, and many nearby spots for lunching. The exhibitors are diverse and dedicated, and the bead fans come out in droves!

JUNE 2010

June 10^th through 13^th

The Bead & Button Show in Milwaukee is the show of shows: The Bead & Button Show is the largest retail bead show in north America, and the show organizers will offer over 600 classes this year covering a huge variety of bead and jewelry techniques across a wide range of skill levels. The event is held every year in Milwaukee’s historic downtown district, which offers world-class lodging and dining at Midwest prices—you can’t beat that!

If you’re shopping for beads at the show, Bead & Button's Bead Marketplace opens for registered show attendees for a special preview on Thursday night, June 10^th from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The show is open to the public starting on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., then Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can find out more about the show, register for classes, look up vendors, and even print out a discount admission coupon at The Bead & Button Show Web site.

Special Note: I will be teaching a class on lampwork glass beadmaking and etching glass beads called Playing with Light: Creating Glass Beads for Etched Effects at this year's Bead & Button show! JULY 2010

July 31st

International Society of Glass Beadmakers Annual Gathering & Bead Bazaar

The International society of Glass Beadmakers will hold it’s annual convention, The Gathering, in Rochester New York this year from July 29^th through August 1^st, with coordinated events in Corning New York as well. This fabulous annual event is not to be missed if you are One of Us—by which I mean thoroughly hooked on art glass beads.

As a beadmaker, you will be able to see demonstrations and hear presentations by world-renowned artists on a wide variety of topics in glass art. You will also get to meet wonderful people from all over the world, at all levels of glass melting skill, and all of whom are there to share our knowledge and revel in our obsession with glass.

As a bead collector, you will see artists from all over the world at the Saturday Bead Bazaar on July 31^st. Some artist who will be there are world famous, others are brand new on the scene, and many do not exhibit at bead shows anywhere else. It is truly a unique experience each year, and not to be missed if you are a lover of art glass beads.
